February 2023

New year, new goals – that’s how to start a year!

Ladies and gentlemen,

Once again, we have been through some eventful months. Apart from Ceres moving into FLUXUM Gernsheim, we also welcomed some young visitors to our GreenTech Park. On the occasion of Curiosity Day, 150 children gained an insight into our green activities. One special step on the path to the future is the surveying of the first construction phase taking place at FLUXUM Gernsheim. As always, we hope you enjoy reading this newsletter!

Growth of FLUXUM Gernsheim: Welcome, Ceres!

The signature on the tenancy agreement is dry and the new production facility is ready. Ceres, the winner of the 2022 Hessischer Gründerpreis in the category of “Start-up from a university”, is now revolutionizing packaging industry from FLUXUM Gernsheim.

Using fully compostable material, the start-up manufactures filling material for shipping packages for more ecological shipping protection. This corresponds to our idea of a greener future and the objective of the GreenTech accelerator ryon to support start-ups in making their ecological contribution.

Young discoverers: Curiosity Day in Gernsheim

Colorful activity in our green park: On the occasion of the first Curiosity Day at FLUXUM Gernsheim on February 2, 150 children from five school classes got a taste of exciting hands-on experiments from the Curiosity Cube – a shipping container that was converted into a mobile science laboratory as an initiative of Merck Life Science.

The Curiosity Cube program began in North America in 2017. Since then, over 140,000 visitors worldwide have been introduced to science and knowledge at more than 600 events. It was therefore only natural for us to open our doors as well. After all, the more young people we reach today, the greater the impact – for fostering more curiosity about the path towards a greener future.

Construction progress: 25,000 square meters for a greener future

Together with the Geoplan team, the surveying of the first construction phase occurred at FLUXUM Gernsheim – a total of 25,000 square meters on which the ground is being leveled for a greener future. This first construction phase concerns a very special section of the site. It is not only part of the future entrance area of FLUXUM Gernsheim, it also contains the areas of the GreenTech accelerator ryon as well as for external companies.
